Why a Homelab? π #
For a future IT engineer, a homelab isn’t just a server for hosting Minecraft. Itβs a sandbox where you can test, break, and rebuild complex infrastructures without risk. This is where I test my network configurations and deployments before considering them “production-ready.”
- Total control of my data.
- Continuous learning (Proxmox, Docker, Networking).
- Savings on Cloud costs (AWS/Azure).
The Core of the Infrastructure: Proxmox VE π#
I chose Proxmox Virtual Environment 9.1.4 as my primary hypervisor. Its flexibility in managing both virtual machines (QEMU) and lightweight containers (LXC) is ideal for my needs.
